Why it exists
One subject, done properly.
People considering green burial in Campbell River have to piece the picture together from a municipal bylaw, a provincial Act, a fee schedule and word of mouth. This site brings that together in plain language, focused on one place: Elk Falls Cemetery.
It is educational, not a service. It does not arrange burials, sell plots or caskets, or act for any funeral provider.
Who is behind it
Megan Lane.
Megan Lane is the founder of And Grace Too Deathcare and the creator of GreenBurialCR.
Her work is rooted in a simple idea: we deserve to know more about death before we’re standing in the middle of it.
Through deathcare education, Megan helps make the practical and often unfamiliar parts of death, dying and end-of-life planning easier to understand and talk about. Her work explores everything from advance planning and healthcare decision-making to funerals, green burial, grief and the many choices families encounter after a death.
Megan completed end-of-life doula training through Douglas College and volunteers with Comox Valley Hospice Society, experiences that have deepened her belief that good deathcare begins with information, conversation and choice.
She created GreenBurialCR after discovering that while green burial is available locally at Elk Falls Cemetery, much of the information families need is spread across bylaws, fee schedules and different organizations. She wanted to bring it together in one practical, approachable place.
Through And Grace Too, Megan is continuing the bigger conversation: helping people become more comfortable looking at mortality so they can make intentional choices about how they live, care for one another and eventually say goodbye.

And Grace Too is about learning how to talk about death before we have to.
We spend a lifetime preparing for what comes next, but death is one of the few things we’re almost guaranteed to experience and rarely taught how to navigate.
And Grace Too is a deathcare education project created to change that.
It’s a place to learn about end-of-life planning, healthcare decision-making, dying, funerals and after-death care, green burial, grief, ritual, and the practical decisions that come with caring for ourselves and the people we love.
But And Grace Too isn’t really about preparing for the perfect death.
It’s about understanding your options. Asking better questions. Having conversations with the people you love. Knowing who can speak for you if you can’t speak for yourself. Understanding what happens after someone dies. And making choices that reflect who you are and what matters to you.
You don’t need to be dying to talk about death.
You don’t need to be grieving to learn about grief.
And you don’t need to wait for a crisis to understand the choices that may one day be yours to make.
Death is part of life. We can learn about it, talk about it and meet it with a little more intention.
